Ambakisye founded a carpentry workshop in Moshi at Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in Aug 2017 after we had granted him a micro loan at 1000USD. He train former street guys carpentry and had already started with that at place he rented, but the profit was so little that they ended up homeless.
We have known Ambakisye since Dec 2014. In Feb 2017 we rented a house where he moved in together with his son 18, an orphan-neveu at 8, and some of the guys he took care of. Pro-Con pay rent of 100 USD until they earn enough to manage it themselves.
Lot of challenges has happend, the last is Covid 19 which reduced their income a lot, that they have not been able to do it yet. But they have at least been able to earn enough for living expences and to support food to others who have not had money for food.
Last fall Ambakisyes prayer to God was answered; A women in Europe donated 5000 USD that he could buy a plot to set up a senter and carpentry workshop.
